Jack McIntyre on F-4's in Viet Nam. Happy April Birthdays to:
David Adler on the 14th Club Business:Nominations for 2000/2001 Board of Directors! Plan to get involved where the rubber meets the road. Programs, activities, door prizes come from your involvement. Our Costs are Going Up! The General Aviation Bldg. was condemned and Squadron II was forced to move into the Jet Center, increasing their costs. Effective April 01, Squadron II is increasing the member use charges from $8 to $ 20/month, impacting the Flying Aces. To meet these increased costs, your Board of Directors is recommending our club dues be increased from $17 to $20; while at the same time increasing the value of our activity reward tickets from $5 to $8. Note: This ratio maintains the active flyer continuing with full participation will still pay no dues after this increase. At the April General meeting the membership will be voting on the following motion: Does the membership approve the dues increase to $20/month and the ticket value increase to $8/month.
Ultralights of Sacramentoby William D. Bardin AFI916-488-2359 http://www.ultralightsofsac.com/flight.html Welcome to the Great Sport of Ultralight Flying! An ultralight aircraft is the most fun, inexpensive, safest and least regulated way to fly for sport or recreation. As in the difference between driving a car and riding a motorcycle, ultralights let you enjoy the experience, low and slow, open to the sky....the true spirit of bird-like flight you'd have in soaring, only with the flexibility, security and freedom of powered flight. Ultralights of Sacramento is your authorized Northern California distributor for Challenger and QuickSilver kits, and many other pilot supplies. Introductory Flight In your introductory flight, you and your instructor pilot will strap into a fully equipped, state-of-the-art ultralight trainer plane, taxi out to the runway and lift off into the air for a 15-or-more minute flight over beautiful countryside and scenery. You can take over the controls , if you want, and get some real hands-on experience under your instructor's guidance. You will be amazed at how safe, fun and enjoyable ultralight flying is! On out Sacramento Delta flights, enjoy a view of the Delta that will take your breath away! Relax on a 56 foot Skipperliner houseboat while one by one, your family and friends "lift off" and experience an ultralight adventure that will not be soon forgotten! In fact, we hope you remember it for a lifetime. Here at Ultralights of Sacramento, we take safety seriously! As members ourselves, we support the educational efforts of the United States Ultralight Association and the Aero Sports Connection. Pilot Training is Our Specialty! Your pilot training is two parts: 1) Ground School and 2) Flight Training. This is usually a one-on-one course with a typical 90 minute class consisting of 30 minutes of ground school and 60 minutes of flight training. In ground school you will learn about ultralight aircraft development, the U.S Ultralight Association, AeroSports Connection, basic aerodynamics, aircraft components and their use, and rules which help make ultralight flying safe and fun. Your flight training will consist of pre-flight checks of your aircraft, taxi and take-off procedures, maneuvering with flight controls and finally, how to make a beautiful landing! Every student learns at his/her own rate, and usually solos in 10 to 20 hours of flight time. We have trained hundreds of new ultralight pilots, those having absolutely no experience to fighter pilots!
For more information visit our Sacramento Ultralight Web Site Also, be sure to stop by our Chat Room--Ultralight Talk and have an online discussion with other ultralight owners, pilots and those who want to be. The room is open all the time, but for the convenience of our readers across all time zones, 7am and 7pm Pacific are designated as official chat gatherings. Or post a time on the bulletin board for people to meet you.
